CSM Group is proud to announce that Josh Jacobson has been promoted to project engineer.
For the past two years, Jacobson has been an integral part of our project execution team as a field intern and has shown a strong desire to learn more about the business and the clients that we serve. Recently, he has been on-site at a global animal health client site part-time while he continues his studies at Western Michigan University. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and will be graduating next year.
"Josh has been engaged on site as an intern while he completes his degree," said John Van Zweden, PE, vice president at CSM Group. "He continues to amaze me with his desire to learn and dig into all the facets of the project. Josh has done a great job on managing the client interface and they have expressed appreciation for how he has engaged them to assure they are getting a quality product."
Van Zweden, PE also went on to say that Jacobson has been instrumental in helping resolve technical issues and change orders on-site, has been quick to learn about the project, and has great instincts for how to resolve problems.
"When we experienced a change in project managers, Josh was critical in providing the continuity on the project and helping bring the new team up to speed. The team appreciates Josh's contributions and congratulates him on this much-deserved promotion."
As a project engineer, Jacobson provides project management and administrative support, including performing daily and/or weekly site inspections for safety and quality purposes and writing the required reports based on those inspections. He also assists with writing scopes of work, bid solicitations, pre-construction meetings and walk-throughs, post-bid interviews, compiling and distributing progress meeting agendas and minutes, and receiving, reviewing, and distributing submittals, shop drawings, and construction documents.
