CSM Group is pleased to announce that Jim Miles has been promoted to Safety Manager and James Grossa, STSC, has been promoted to Senior Safety Specialist.
As a Safety Manager, Miles plays an integral role in managing CSM Group's safety and risk management. He provides leadership of health and safety processes, including regulatory agency compliance, company policies, and human capital development. He also executes the company's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
"Jim is a very valuable member of our team and has done an outstanding job serving both our internal team and our clients," said Randy Patinka, Vice President of EHS&S. "With his level of site experience and his demonstrated safety leadership, CSM Group is lucky to have Jim as a new safety manager."
Miles has more than 33 years of experience working for a confidential global pharmaceutical corporation. His career there began in 1988 in security and evolved to fire chief, a role he held for six years. He responded to and managed emergencies at this client's site and throughout the community, and also oversaw the client's Emergency Response Team. He holds many firefighting certificates, is a fire instructor in the state of Michigan, and has a wealth of experience in relation to safety.
As a Senior Safety Specialist, Grossa is responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge, and preparedness across the organization to create a culture that prioritizes effective safety protocols. He provides overall leadership, professional knowledge, and expertise in administering and supporting health and safety processes, including regulatory agency compliance, company policies, and human capital development. Grossa also provides advice and guidance to project staff, including project directors, senior project/construction managers, project/construction managers, and project engineers.
"James continues to step up when asked and goes above and beyond consistently," Patinka said. "I’m confident that he will excel in the Senior Safety Specialist role and have an even greater impact at our client sites and beyond."
Grossa has been with the company since August of 2014 and during his time with CSM Group, has worked across multiple market segments, including life sciences, food and beverage, and healthcare. His work ethic and ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, from his teammates to the client to the trade contractors, make him a valuable asset to the organization. During his time with us, he has been awarded four (4) CSM Group Builder Awards, including Teamwork, Client Satisfaction, and Attitude (x2).
