In 2019, CSM Group was contracted by Western Diversified Plastics, a design, tooling, and production facility for close-tolerance injection-molded components, to manage the construction of a new 40,000-square-foot addition to an existing building.

The purpose of this addition was to create additional warehouse space for the storage of finished product.

Construction began in October 2019 but was temporarily shutdown at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Once it was deemed safe to do so, construction resumed, and the schedule was modified to achieve substantial completion in August 2020.

The project site was located near Western Diversified Plastics’ shipping and receiving drives, and the campus remained operational throughout the course of construction. It was our priority to ensure that product deliveries were not disrupted by the construction project. We also had to coordinate shutdowns to allow for tie-ins to existing fire protection utilities.

This was achieved through proactive communication with all key stakeholders, including the client and on-site subcontractors.
