Corporation Hall, a 33,000-square-foot renovation of an 1860s-era building, is a mixed-use facility with retail on the lower level and first floor and residential units for lease on the second and third levels.
The project utilized significant sustainable design and building practices. Sustainable features included drilling an 18,400 foot deep geothermal well under the structure's basement floor, installing and planting a green roof, high-efficiency mechanical units, low consumption light fixtures, and ample daylighting through the use of multiple skylights in each unit.
Overall, these energy features will save more than 60% on energy costs. Tenants and the public can observe the building's energy use first hand on the sophisticated energy dashboards displayed at street and occupant levels.
