Katie Johnson joins CSM Group as general counsel

CSM Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Johnson as its new general counsel.

Johnson is an experienced legal professional, who has worked for Plante Moran and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law with a J.D. degree and also holds bachelor’s degrees in nursing and political science from Valparaiso University and Western Michigan University, respectively.

It’s more critical than ever to ensure the highest levels of legal counsel and guidance are available to assist with CSM Group’s mission.”

As general counsel, Johnson is responsible for the company’s risk management strategies and policies, and will provide strategic counsel on legal, risk, business, and operational matters. She will also oversee CSM Group’s licensing, which includes managing both domestic and international licensing.

CSM Group will continue to utilize outside legal counsel for specialized needs, but the coordination and efficiencies of in-house general counsel combined with case-specific experts will serve as an enhancement to those efforts.
