THE EAST SIDE
Welcome to the Inaugural Issue of Construction Sights
Editorial comment from Steven A. East, President of CSM Group
"Why," you might ask, "is CSM Group publishing a quarterly newsletter?" Aren't there more than enough newsletters already out there?"
As a matter of fact, yes. But most are thinly disguised promotional pieces, offer little or no solid information on the Michigan construction industry and nothing that can help you make more informed decisions on current or future construction projects.
But Construction Sights sets the bar a little higher. It's designed keep you up to date on industry events, deliver news about new technologies and programs, provide answers to your most frequently asked questions,
feature interviews with key people in our industries, and much more.
We will focus on relevant issues
that could affect our businesses,
our jobs and our lives. We will be
providing insights and analysis on building materials and environmental health. And we're also liable to
throw in a few stories that are just plain interesting!
In this inaugural issue you'll find
an article about construction projects that must co-exist with everyday activities-like renovating an arena with thousands of people pulsing through it regularly.
You'll also read about:
an exciting new project for the Girl Scouts of America Glowing Embers Council that will allow suburban
and rural scouts to "camp out"- inside, and in the heart of
downtown Kalamazoo!
a charming little church that was built in Poland, taken apart and shipped, then rebuilt near Lawton-a remarkable "faith journey" of
its own!
how a tired building was trans - formed into a state-of-the-art cyber-structure, serving as the Media Center for Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
Construction Sights is intended to
be about you, your projects, and the things you find important. So I'd really welcome your comments and input; thank you in advance.
From this corner of each issue I'll
talk to you about a variety of topics. But chances are those topics won't include my golf swing. It's certainly "under construction"-but that's nothing new!
