CSM Group manages all aspects of the construction phase of a project. Our project team will ensure successful implementation of the project plan. Controlling the schedule is a process that starts immediately. The development of a master project schedule is the first step in schedule control. The process starts at the team integration meeting, where responsibilities for specific tasks are assigned.
CSM Group will then monitor, maintain and update the schedule on a regular basis, with resources identified and allocated to assure the tasks that fall behind are corrected. These activities begin during the design phase and continue through project closeout. Detailed sub-schedules that feed into the master project schedule are developed subsequently for each work area. Once the design is complete the overall project schedule is incorporated into the Project Manual and becomes a bidding requirement. Each successful trade contractor is required to generate a schedule for their work that we will review and ensure that it meets the project requirements. During construction, trade contractors are required to submit look-ahead schedules that identify activities to be completed and manpower assigned.
CSM reviews this information and if we do not agree with their plans we work with them to get back on track. The Project Manual has provisions that provide the leverage needed to enforce the schedule requirements.
CSM has deemed investment in technology, particularly as it relates to communication and project control, a high priority. We are fully automated in the exchange of drawings and other media electronically and all of our staff members are continuously available via email and cell phone.
CSM Group incorporates more practical technology into the construction process than most other firms in the state. Our trade contractors state we are far ahead of our competitors, which is one reason why so many trade contractors enjoy working with us. Our Plan-it CSM Digital Plan Room is an example of that technology. All project documents are scanned and uploaded on our web-site where trade contractors can view the documents, order prints, and submit RFI’s during the bidding phase. Once under construction, our field personnel (equipped with tablet PCs) and all trade contractors can access documents from anywhere on the site. All CSM job sites are wireless equipped and all trade contractors are encouraged to use the service.
