Project Description

The WKKI project began in May 2008 and included a pre-cast plant, steel office building, and an interior remodel. The project had a very large site work package that included demolition of the existing buildings and moving the existing parking lots.

CSM Group installed over 400 auger-cast piles due to the contaminated water on the Brownfield site, and also installed monitoring wells within the new pilot plant.

In order to keep the project on schedule, CSM Group worked closely with the building occupants to move the existing equipment into the new pilot plant in a timely manner and avoided productivity downtime.

Our CSM Group project team reduced the snowmelt package by $205,000, and the team also decided to use ceramic tile in lieu of porcelain, which saved the owner an additional $10,790. Furthermore, the team deleted the hydraulic scaffold system, which was in the base bid, and used supplied scaffolding and enclosure instead, which saved $35,432. In addition to these, other various value engineering items have saved the client an additional $30,208.
