The facility serves approximately 720 students and is the district’s fourth middle school. The building enables sixth graders to relocate from the elementary schools into a new setting for educational growth.
A unique feature is a green roof terrace that is used as a teaching classroom. The roof has three live roof plantings spanning 4,800 square feet and a retaining live wall. Additionally, the new library creates a contemporary setting and a modern learning environment. It allows students a retreat to study while enriching their learning experience with new computers and technology.
The intention was to create an integrated learning environment that provides students relevant experiences to emphasize cooperation leading to a sense of ownership. Additionally, teamwork and dedication offered an excellent construction experience to create an innovative school, and an asset to the community.
