Portfolio of Office Construction Projects
Today's office building is a very different animal. And to build it properly, you need a construction partner who understands the issues and concerns that make it so. A partner like CSM Group. We have the experience and track record to deal with more sophisticated utility requirements, enhanced attention to security issues, and dozens of other issues that reach to the core of your project.

Miller Canfield

Scheduled for completion in 2008, the Miller-Canfield Building will create nearly 80,000 square feet of office space and 140 parking spaces at the Rose and South Street intersection.  It will also be the first Class A office building in downtown Kalamazoo.

Southwest Michigan First

Kalamazoo Gazette

CSM Group was awarded an $8 million construction contract for the Kalamazoo Gazette's expansion and renovation project in the spring of 2002. The addition houses a new, state of the art printing press. Special foundations and other building components are part of the work to accommodate this equipment. The primary building addition encompasses about 30,000 square feet and is four stories in height (three above grade and one below grade).

Cooley Park

Cooley Drive is a 9,000 sf wood frame, slab on grade, brick and EIFS clad office building located in Portage, Michigan. The building owner is Midwest Realty Group, a developer of Class ‘A’ office space throughout the area. Cooley Drive I is part of a planned five building project.

American Red Cross

This facility is brightened by a combination of natural light sources, large perimeter windows and numerous cathedral skylights, as well as tasteful theme interior lighting schemes.  A 26' tall red tube steel cross supports the entrance canopy and is visible at quite a distance.  The Red Cross theme is incorporated more subtly within the split faced masonry wainscot by utilizing ground-faced units at evenly spaced intervals.

Bronson Properties, Inc.

This project began with a minor dilemma.  An existing physician group located on Kalamazoo’s west side would have to be relocated from their existing office space within the next eight months.  The hospital had property available but no programming had been done and no plans were yet developed. CSM along with Diekema/Hamann Architects (DHA) immediately embarked on a fast track process to design and build this 16,500 sf facility in time for the critical spring of 2000 move-in date.

Archway Cookies

CSM was responsible for the construction of an approximately 9,000 square foot office building consisting of steel structure with precast plank floor and wood framed curtain wall construction. The original building was constructed approximately 25 years prior and utilized an extensive amount of interior architectural woodwork. The construction process was contained within the very sensitive limits of the owner’s existing landscaping and tie into the existing structure.

Speareflex Building

CSM Group managed the restoration and fit out of these historic buildings in Kalamazoo's East End for Owner PlazaCorp. One of the two structures, formerly occupied by The Shakespeare Company, a manufacturer of fishing tackle, is a 19,000 square foot Art Deco building housing a pub as well as providing for 10,000 square feet of future tenant space. The property includes private parking and heated sidewalks, open atriums and extensive windows and skylights.

Salomon Smith Barney

CSM Group managed an interior office build-out in the historic Globe Building in downtown Kalamazoo.  This 5,800 sf space was built out for the financial services company, Salomon Smith Barney.  Details included nine-foot tall cherry doors and matching cherry woodwork throughout, exposed brick exterior walls and full height glass interior partitions to maximize natural light and a feeling of openness.

Northside Association for Community Development

CSM has worked with NACD to maximize minority involvement in the construction project, helped with solicitation and coordination of financing and ensured their buildings are designed and constructed in the most efficient, and effective way possible to allow NACD to focus their time and their resources on the community.

Allegan General Hospital

The medical office building, which includes 18,000 sf of new addition and 2,000 sf of existing medical office building renovations, is owned and operated by Bronson Properties Corporation. These new and renovated areas are entirely occupied by Allegan Medical Clinic PC. The hospital building portion includes 12,000 sf of new additions and renovation of 4,000 sf of existing hospital area.

City of Walker

Additions included 10,000 square feet of office / common space for City Hall and DPW staff, 8,500 square feet of DPW garage and a 4,250 square foot mezzanine. The main storage area was schematically designed as a basement but value engineering by The CSM Group indicated significant savings by incorporating the storage as a 2nd level mezzanine.
