Marshall Public Schools
Middle School


CSM Group acted as construction manager for five separate building projects. The middle school was a three-story, 35,000-square-foot, historic addition, which connects three buildings-along with renovations to two of those three buildings.

New Walters Elementary


The New Walters Elementary is a 65,000 sf state-of-the-art facility located on 10 acres adjacent to the current High School. The building contains all the elements of a new elementary along with a full size competition gymnasium.



Kalamazoo Public Schools


In May of 2006, Voters approved $85 Million to upgrade district facilities, equipment and technology.  CSM was selected to manage the construction of all KPS facilities including the construction of a new middle school and new elementary school.  In all, 26 buildings will have some renovations and/or additions completed under this bond issue.

Parchment School District

The project includes a new gymnasium addition that will allow the existing gymnasium to become a multi-purpose space including cafeteria use, media center expansion, admin expansion, creation of a commons area, renovation of band space and voc-tech spaces, a new kitchen and building wide technology improvements.  

Marshall Public Schools
Gordon Elementary

Gorden Elementary was a part of 8,000 sf additions and interior renovation of existing facilities by Marshall Public Schools. A complete exterior window replacement was planned. A major facet included during planning for these facilities is technology upgrades to maintain consistency with the New Elementary.

Hughes Elementary


Hughes Elementary was part of 8,000 sf additions to and interior renovation of existing facilities by Marshall Public Schools. A complete exterior window replacement was planned. A major facet included during planning for these facilities is technology upgrades to maintain consistency with the New Elementary.


Lakeside Treatment and Learning Center


The new 17,700 sf Diagnostic and Treatment Center includes living space for 20 individuals, multi-purpose recreation rooms, medical exam space and counseling and treatment offices.  The Education facility has been renovated and expanded and  renovations were undertaken on the existing residence cottages.  The kitchen and bathroom facilities were renovated and new counseling offices have been added to each cottage. 


Battle Creek Public Schools


CSM Group was hired to perform renovations to the Battle Creek Central High School Life Management Classroom and Principal / Administrative Offices. The renovation work was located on the first and third floors in a downtown setting, which created site and building access challenges.

Union City Schools


This project was an addition and remodel to the existing facility. The additions consist of 16,000 sf additions and remodeling of 6,000 sf. The structure is conventional masonry block, brick and structural steel. A new mechanical system has been installed throughout the facility including new unit ventilation and new boilers.


Springport Schools


The Design / Build Team of CSM Group with Diekema / Hamann Architects managed the construction of the 54,400 SF Elementary School Additions and Renovations which consisted of renovations to the Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, Chapter 1 Classroom, Article III Classroom and Media Center.


St. Michael Lutheran Church


Budget was a significant Owner concern and CSM was able to work with the designer to ensure the project was designed and engineered to meet all of the Owner's goals - cost, performance, size and quality. The project includes a new 22,500 square foot building with a pre-engineered metal structural frame with split-face masonry veneer.


Kalamazoo Advantage Academy


This project is located in downtown Kalamazoo in the Columbia Plaza Building. It consists of the renovation and creation of a gymnasium for a charter school in a portion of the building formerly containing a night club and office space.


Bloomingdale Public Schools
