CSM Group welcomes Courtney Carl and Makay Markwart

CSM Group is pleased to welcome Courtney Carl and Makay Markwart to the team.

Carl, a project manager, will provide leadership, direction and oversight support to projects during all phases of construction. He will also be responsible for coordinating the construction efforts, predicting and resolving conflicts before they impact the project, and delivering timely and cost-effective solutions for our clients.

Carl comes to CSM Group with over 30 years of experience managing projects in the K-12 and higher education markets, as well as the commercial, industrial, historical restoration, multi-family, and agricultural sectors. He holds several industry-specific certifications and is LEED AP Building Design + Construction (LEED AP BD+C) accredited.

With his experience in safety, subcontractor management, master schedule development, and quality control, Carl will be supporting CSM Group’s K-12 education market.

As a project engineer, Markwart will provide project management and administrative support, including performing daily and/or weekly site inspections for safety and quality purposes and writing the required reports based on those inspections. He will also assist with writing scopes of work, bid solicitations, pre-construction meetings and walk-throughs, post-bid interviews, compiling and distributing progress meeting agendas and minutes, and receiving, reviewing and distributing submittals, shop drawings, and construction documents.

Markwart, a recent graduate of Ferris State University, holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management. He has completed summer internships and seasonal work for several companies within the construction industry, including JMB Builders & Sons, Architectural Metals Inc., and Triangle Associates.

He will be supporting CSM Group’s healthcare market.
