Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home

Welcome to the project newsletter for the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home project!  An updated newsletter is published on a monthly basis in an effort to keep the community and neighborhood surrounding the project abreast of construction activity and important project updates. 

On site construction activity progressed through August.  Roof joist detailing and erection of the deck are underway at Unit A.  Roofing work at Unit A is anticipated to be complete by September 8.  Exterior brick work is approximately 35% complete at Unit A.  Steel frame work was completed in August at Unit B along with the mezzanine deck, which allowed for the chillers to be erected in place at that location.  Erection of steel framing is scheduled to commence in Unit C the first week of September.  County Buildings and Grounds and Byce & Associates reviewed building equipment that had been delivered to the site to inspect for damage and to confirm that specification requirements were maintained.

The project webcam will be available through the remainder of the project for review of construction activity underway.
