Steve East

Current Position Steven East has been President of CSM Group since May of 1990 and Chief Executive Officer since May of 2000. He currently chairs the Company Board of Directors

Personal History Mr. East joined CSM in May of 1986 as Director of Field Services. He was active in that role for 3 years when he moved into the position of Vice President of Operations. During this time he oversaw the first major projects that CSM constructed which included Bronson Place Retirement Center/ Skilled Nursing Facility and Bronson Hospital’s Level 1 Emergency Department. As he moved into the overall operations of the company his duties expanded to include supervision of support activities and marketing. In 1990 Steve headed the buyout of CSM from its parent company and became its majority shareholder and President at that time. During the next 18 years Mr. East has overseen the growth and development of CSM as we see it today. Today he serves as President and CEO.

Personal Info Steve was born and raised in the Kalamazoo area. He attended Gull Lake High School, received his bachelor degree in Construction Science from Western Michigan University and was named to its Alumni Academy of Excellence in 2006. He and his wife Tara reside in Augusta, Michigan. where they operate a horse ranch. They have 2 children.

Dan Bailey

Current Position Dan Bailey began his role as Vice President of Development in 2009. In addition, he serves as part of the CSM Group executive team.

Personal History Bailey joined CSM Group in January 2006 as project director. He has served a dual role as executive director of business development and project director for two years. As vice president of development, Bailey is known for the energetic leadership he brings to the projects that he directs. With more than 12 years experience in the construction industry, Bailey is responsible for developing growth and generating program development, particularly for large, complex projects. His expertise lies in management of multifaceted project delivery systems to ensure not only continuity of plan to execution, but in the delivery of the best possible value for each client. Teammates and clients alike rely on his strong ability to assess and manage construction challenges and opportunities. Under his guidance, project team members collaborate to create highly successful outcomes for all project stakeholders.

Personal Info Bailey was born in Chicago and raised in Grand Rapids Mich. He worked his way up in the construction industry as a carpenter, field manager, project manager, and project director. Bailey holds a degree in Building Construction Technology from Ferris State University. He and his wife, Keri, reside in Cascade, Mich. with their three children.

Todd McDonald

Current Position Todd McDonald has been Group Vice President for CSM Group since 2007.

Personal History Todd joined CSM Group as Project Engineer in 1988 while attending Western Michigan University. He became a partner in the firm in 1990 and spent the next few years managing work for Meijer. He became a Project Manager and worked out of the corporate office starting in 1993, at which point he worked on developing relationships with such clients as Battle Creek Health System, Felpausch Foods, EPI, Toyota Tsusho, Kalamazoo Public schools to name a few. In 2007, he was promoted to his current position of Group Vice President at CSM Group.

Current Position Curt Petersen has been Group Vice President for CSM Group since 2007.

Personal History Curt joined CSM Group as Project Engineer in 1987 while attending Western Michigan University. He became a partner in the firm in 1990. He became a Project Manager and worked out of the corporate office starting in 1993, at which point he worked on developing relationships with such clients as Archway Cookies, Meijer, Bronson Methodist Hospital, Michigan State University –Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies, Stryker, Midlink Business Park, Bell’s Brewing, Special-Lite Manufacturing, AvTech Laboratories, Western Michigan University, and MPI Research. In 2007 he was promoted to his current position of Group Vice President at CSM Group.

Mark Roys

Current Position Mark Roys has been Group Vice President for CSM Group’s Grand Rapids office since October 2007.

Personal History Mark joined CSM Group as Project Director in 2006 after retiring from the U.S. Navy, where he served as an Officer with the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps. Mark has held positions in facility management, facilities construction, program management and manpower management throughout the United States, as well as in the United Kingdom, Spain and Japan. In October 2007, he was promoted to his current position of Associate and Group Vice President at CSM Group.
