Lakeland HealthCare
CSM Group provided construction management services to construct a 57,000 sf, 2-story medical office building (MOB) addition; located on the Lakeland Health System center for outpatient campus. The expansion allows for easy access to other medical environments, while enhancing operational efficiency and productivity.
CSM Group proposed an aggressive construction phasing plan with occupancy scheduled for November 2008. Anticipating detailed building features, our Pre-Construction and Estimating services immediately enforced budget control. Value Management “workshops” were conducted at strategic phases, which focused upon optimizing quality and cost. Through our Value Management process we delivered the project 18 percent under budget. We used a proactive, integrated management tools, that provided the Owner with information and reports necessary to make informed decisions.
One project challenge was to design a new building that was consistent with the existing architecture of the Center for Outpatient Services. It was also important to provide a distinctive image for the cardiology practices. Additionally, as the new building added a third entry point to the Center, a succession of entry views was studied via 3- D modeling to confirm that visitors to the site will easily find their way.
